HOME IS...

“Home is where the heart is” they say But what if that place no longer exists? What if the people who made it home are gone? For me home is a memory A feeling of warmth and love That I can never get back It’s the sound of laughter The smell of fresh baked cookies The touch of a loving hand But it’s all just a memory now The laughter has faded like paint The cookies are stale as bread The hands that held me are gone I’m left with only tears And a longing for what used to be Home, why must you be so far away?
