My Home

To me, home is not a place, it is the connection I feel with others. Home is the people around me who care about me, appreciate me, and comfort me throughout all the rough times. These people are not only my family, but also my friends, my teachers, and my classmates. When loved ones are around me I feel supported and accepted. Home gives me a reason to grow as a person, and not let mistakes define me. It lets me be proud of myself and feel happy. Living in an expensive house with a lot of money without my family would not give me happiness. Fancy walls and piles of money without my family can’t cure loneliness. If I were to live in a small home with my family, I would feel comforted and not lonely. Getting all of the things I want is not equal to the comfort and love my family gives me. I guess the one thing I truly want is genuine connection, and other blessings are a happy bonus! Home to me is that feeling of love, connection, and belonging to a community.
