What Home Means to Me

Home can mean a lot to different people, but here's what home means to me. Home can be many things such as a peaceful resting place, a calm place where family gathers, there's many definitions of home, and everyone has their own. Home can be calm like a sleeping cat, or warm like a knitted sweater, home is more than just a place to eat, sleep, rinse and repeat. It's hot like a sizzling fireplace, dark like the night sky, and as still as water, that's…home. Home can be calm like a warm blanket, and a hand knitted pillow, it’s peace and friendship. It is calm like the sea at night, as the moon gleams down upon it. It's more than just a house, it will always be a comfortable place. Home is a place where family and friends gather. Home is where freshly baked food is made, it's where you learn valuable skills. Home is joy nicely wrapped inside of wrapping paper. Home is a place where you age, it's where you grow up, that's…home. Home can be funny, nice, and caring, it's all of the above, it's whatever you want it to be. It can be many different things, but it's not just a simple thing. It's a part of you, it's not just physical, it's a feeling. Home is more than just something you live in, it’s a part of you, everyone has a home, it might not be in the same form, but it’s still home. Everyone’s home is uniquely theirs. That’s…home. Home is a place where love is born. It's still like water, it's cozy like a knitted sweater, it's hot like a sizzling fireplace, it's where family gathers. It’s more than just eating, sleeping, rinsing and repeating, it's…home. The feeling of home is numerous, it’s all of them at once. Home is a place where you and your family are respected and loved. That’s…home.
