The Meaning of Home
My home is not just a house. It's somewhere filled with the people I love and with happy memories. It's where friends and family support me, no matter what. My family is a big part of my life and my sister Stella is the best sister in the whole entire world. She supports me with all my dance dreams and she never misses one of my competitions.
My home has lots of memories like when I got my first dog, Louie. He's the best and we even share birthdays. When I got Louie I was in grade 2. One day after school my dad picked Stella and I up from the bus stop and we went home. When we walked inside, my mom was taking pictures of something and at first I was so confused. There was this little back lab in my living room! I remember that moment as one of the best moments of my life.
I think it's great that I always have a place to be when I'm mad or sad. When I think of home, I think of love and happiness, my sister rushing out of the house to go to hockey, or my mom saying, “How was your day?” or my dad saying, “You’re going to crush it!” before I go on stage at a dance competition.
Dance is another place I call home. It’s where I can make a mistake and no one will judge me. It’s where my team is like family. My team makes me so happy. It's where I get all my emotions out. It makes me excited when I'm learning a new dance. Miss Holly, my dance teacher, always makes me feel so confident in my dancing.
Home is not a place, it’s a feeling.
