The Meaning of Home

A home and a house are two very different things. A house is somewhere where you maybe don’t feel at home. A home is where your future starts, it’s where you live, it’s where you feel safe, loved and sometimes sad. You can show your true feelings in your home. I have two homes. One is a little cold and one is never cold. One home I am bored at. The other I am never bored at. I always have something to do. When I think of my home, I think of my mom saying come eat, where my brother is yelling on his computer and where my sister is on her phone. I am sometimes by myself. When I think of my other house, I think of my dad saying what do you want for dinner, my brother watching tv or on his phone and my sister doesn’t come there. At my home I love to play soccer in my backyard in the summer and in my basement in the winter with my family or by myself. When I walk into my home I smell cinnamon scented candles. Usually there are shoes at the front door and I drop my coat where my mom tells me not to. Me and my siblings are always fighting for the red chair, it is everybody's favourite chair. Usually I never win the fight so I go to my second favourite chair. It’s the corner of the couch, there are always blankets there and it’s so cozy. A house is made out of bricks. A home is made out of a family.
