How Home Feels

How Home Feels Home should be somewhere you'll feel peace, not hate, A truth that I'll never exaggerate. This house should feel warm like sunshine's embrace, Where thoughts can flow freely in this peaceful space. If you walk out the back door, You’ll feel things you haven’t felt before. You’ll feel so bright, There will be no need for any fright. This home is supposed to be one of grace So we’ll welcome you inside, no matter what face. Our kitchen's alive with cinnamon sweet; Where laughter and friendship regularly meet. Fresh cookies are baking, stories we share, Creating memories beyond compare. The living room where we’ll get along and have fun, But let me tell you more, I’m surely not done. When you walk into my room, you will find a place for rest, A perfect place to unwind, and where you will feel your best. When you enter the bathroom you can move at your own pace, Because this house is supposed to be a happy place. Down in the basement, there’s no need to feel fright, Just reach out and switch on the light. Adventure waits in every corner here, Where shadows dance, but bring no fear. We’ll make you feel welcome and feel right at home. But don’t worry this isn’t the end of my poem. This house is made to be one of peace, And we’ll give you hospitality for some days at least. This place is one to slow down and not resent. Believe me, if you stay for a while, there won’t be any rent. This home stands open, peaceful, and free. It’s a shelter for all, what it's meant to be. So think about what I’ve said in this poem. And remember, no matter what, everyone deserves a home.
