The Home Poem
Lilly was studying in her room for her next science test. She opened her textbook and flipped through the pages. And there, on page 45, was an envelope! She opened it up and found a poem. It said:
Roses are red, violets are blue,
Home is the place I am with you.
I love to swim, I love to play,
I love to plant flowers in May.
A home is more than just four walls,
It is the memory of playing with my old dolls.
In my home, we cook, laugh, and play,
It is the place I want to keep and stay.
Home to me is sleepovers and playdates,
And hanging out with my best mates.
I think home is the place of all,
Because it is way more than just four walls.
It is the love and hope that connect us all.
After reading this, Lilly said to herself, "That was amazing!" She thought the person who lived in her house before her wrote it. She hung it up in her room, and from now on, whenever Lilly saw it, she always felt really happy and grateful that she had a home.
