What Home Means To Me
What Home Means To Me
By: Samuel Pun
A house is somewhere you live, period. A house does not have to make you happy. You live there. No further definition needed, that's what a house is, four walls and a roof. On the other hand a home could be somewhere you live, or you might not live there. A home is where you feel safe. A home is a time machine to your happiest memories.
Expanding on this concept isn't hard. I just think, I use the time machine in my head. I just remember all of my happy memories. I remember playing games with my siblings, video chats with my friends. Cooking with my mom in the kitchen, watching football with my dad. These are all things that make my home a home. It makes me feel sad and almost angry that some people don't have the liberty of a safe and happy home.
Everyone deserves to feel safe and cared for. That's the problem with our world, there are people in OUR world that don't have this. Every single one of us on this earth deserves a safe home no matter who you are. That's why I respect the kind hearted people at Habitat for Humanity so much. They are brave enough to do this, this something we need to address. If no one takes action for this small thing that should be a human right, how can we improve as people
Our earth has a lot of problems.
We have to fix them.
Everyone deserves a home.
We have the power to fix these problems. But few people try.
“The world is a dangerous place to live; not because of the people who are evil, but because of the people who don't do anything about it.”-Albert Einstein
Everyone deserves a home.
