What Home Means To Me?

My life journey has been a unique adventure, shaped by different places and experiences, all revolving around the idea of home. I was born in the UAE but moved to South Korea when I was two months old. Growing up in a country where I did not speak the language was tough, yet it helped me grow strong. My dad worked as an engineer, and my mom took care of the house while my older brother and I adjusted to our new life. I attended Gyeongnam International Foreign School (International school), where I made friends and learned to connect with others, as English was spoken at that school. But when I turned ten, everything changed again. We decide to move to Canada as it gives up ample of opportunities and help my whole family Packing up our lives in just five weeks was challenging, and leaving my friends in South Korea made me devastated. But I understood that this move was important for my brother and my dad's future job. When we arrived in Calgary, I felt excited and nervous at the same time since everything was so new. At first, we rented a house, but after four months, we bought a home that felt just right. In this house, I learned the true meaning of home. It became a place full of love, laughter, and memories shared around the dinner table and during family gatherings. Now that I look back on my journey, I realize that home is more than just a building. It’s about the connections we make and the people we love. Each place I’ve lived has shaped who I am, and home will always be where my heart is, filled with warmth and happiness and unforgettable moments that define my life.
