Home

Home is when we are together, like clay “I’m home” is what we say As we enter from a crazy day Monday to Sunday My family says, “ nobody can replace our home” As long as we are with each other, in our invisible dome Our roof still stands Above our heads Protecting us Even though we fuss Through storms and winds, it holds us near, Shielding us from every fear. As we get home, food is ready, And our cats sit steady. Sitting by the door, They beg for more and more. Cooked food in the house, As our cats chase the mouse. The smell of rice fills the room, Test tomorrow, we are doomed. We finish our food but save a bit, So there's some for the ‘morrow yet. I practice and practice, I give it my best, Hoping that soon, I'll ace the test! Home is where we do not stress, Even though we can’t find our dress. Litter and crumbs all over the floor, Cat’s fur floating right past the door. Like tumbleweeds rolling by, Sticking to socks as they fly. Lego bricks hurting our feets as we walk, Too much pain that we scream like hawks The ground is dirty, full of mess, But the cats still play, they couldn’t care less! Kittens cuddling tight, Filling us with pure delight. Fluffy tails and paws so light, Purring softly through the night. No matter the noise, no matter the mess, The whirlwind of life, the daily stress. Laughter echoes, footsteps race, Yet love still fills this wonderful space. Not just the walls, the roof, or the light, But hearts that gather, holding tight. Through every storm, through joy and pain, Home is where love will always remain.
