What Home is to Me

What Home Is To Me I think that home has more than four walls and a roof. It is a place where memories are made and stored. It is a place where you are comfortable and relaxed. I love the smell of my moms baking for supper after a long day of school My home is in La Salle but a home could be anywhere, in Winnipeg or even on the other side of the world. My home is in a safe neighborhood full of friends and family. ones that you play video games with, make up games with and build forts. It is outdoors in God's creation looking at all the beautiful things he has created. That is a part of being home too. Swinging on a bench listening to the dogs barking, birds chirping and the trains and cars honking their horns. The senses of home are super easy to describe. My home is like a soft fluffy blanket that has been freshly washed and a cup of hot coco in my hands, warming them up. My home sounds like my parents saying good - night at bedtime. My home smells like freshly made popcorn and tea. My home tastes like a freshly cooked meal on my plate that smells amazing. My home looks like a photo album packed with pictures of my family. It is fun to open our albums and unpack memories. The people who make my home feel alive are super important to me. They could be my family who loves to play games, playing apples to apples late into the night. We enjoy laughing and telling my brother a million times to stop telling us that he’s winning. My friends sometimes will come over for a sleepover, we fall asleep during the boring parts and are wide awake during the funny parts. Sometimes my cousins and I like to stay up really late eating popcorn and candy while watching a movie. Home feels to me like a nice warm hug that never lets go. Soft music playing while my dad reads me a book or a bible and I sit in a comfy chair with my sister snuggling with me. It's going on a camping trip and having lots of adventures. Seeing lots of different animals and maybe even having a few things happen that we didn’t expect to see. Home is more than a place with four walls and a roof. It's a place where you can connect with other people. Make new friends and memories. A place where you can feel safe and important. A place where you can be you because home is where the heart is.
