The Five Senses of Home

Home looks like a brand new piece of furniture sitting atop the wooly rug, warm golden sunlight beaming through the windows on a summer morning, steam rising from the boiling pot, and family gatherings filled with love. Home feels like stepping on a piece of Lego, the fuzzy feel of your pets soft fur, constantly picking up your kids' messes, and feeling the cold 'winterpeg' air creeping through the windows. Home sounds like chatter at the dinner table, the cards shuffling during a tense family board game, the cry of the dog when it knows it's dinner time, and friendly, family conversations. Home tastes like a rich warm homemade dessert, a plumb ruby strawberry freshly picked from the garden in the backyard, Grandma's tasty cookies, which everybody knows are a big deal, and Mom's disgusting lettuce and kale protein shake. Home smells like mint incense on a relaxing evening, the flowery aroma of a freshly picked rose bouquet, the smoky smell of your brother burning the toast, and your dog's hair, fluff balls getting stuck in your nose.
