The Meaning of Home
My home feels good to be in because, MOM, my mom makes me feel home by cooking for me. By getting me things she knew I wanted and saying goodnight. By picking me up from school. By letting me sit beside her. But she makes me feel home more when she spends time with me, and when she gives me hugs when I’m scared. When she lets me have friends over. And mostly when she lets me Bake and do fun things with her. That’s how my mom makes me feel home.
The second thing that makes me feel home is, DAD, my dad makes me feel home by, making me feel safe when we go to our cousin’s house and see their dogs and puppies, and lets me have friends over. But he mostly makes me feel home by, saying I love you and your beautiful you at random times and gives me hugs, when he swims with me because no one else wanted to. That’s how my dad makes me feel home.
My sister Tegan makes me feel home by, hanging out with me at night, and having sleepovers with me. By playing Roblox with me and doing things with me. But mostly when she hugs me even though she doesn’t like hugs and tucks me in when its late and our parents are sleeping. When she talks to me and includes me when she has her friends with her. When she walks and talks with me at the mall and acts goofy with me. When she swims with me and jumps on the trampoline with me in the summer. And when she does my hair and makeup.
That’s how my family makes me feel home when anytime, anywhere.
