What My Home Means To Me
My home is not my house. My home is more than a simple building, or a roof above my head. My home is a place where I belong, where I am loved, where people except who I am. My home is where my heart is. My home is where my family is.
Even though I am a Canadian citizen, my true home is, and always will be, India. Why? Firstly, I was born there. Secondly, almost all my family lives in India, and I did too, until age 6, in 2020, when I came to Canada.
You have probably heard the sayings “There’s no place like home”, “It’s not the house you live in, it’s the people inside it”, and “Home is where your heart is”, right? Well, I want to help bring those to life.
I want everyone to have a home, to be able to be with their families, for everyone, to know that they can be whatever they want, to know they are loved, people should be able to know they matter, and have a chance to truly belong.
In conclusion, home means a lot to me, and I want everyone to feel that too. To feel they are part of one big community and that’s what Habitat for Humanity does.
