Meaning of Home

A home is a place where you can create memories you can keep for the rest of your life. When I was little, I lived in Vancouver. I grew up there for a few years of my life and I loved it there. When I moved to Hamilton, I moved into a little basement in a house. I played with my dolls, I had so much fun at that house I never wanted to leave. That was until my mom told me we were moving. I got sad. That house was where I felt like I could be myself. During the pandemic, I moved again. I enjoyed how it was, finally being able to have a bigger space to play. I have 2 bathrooms, and my own bedroom. I used to share a room with my 22-year-old sister. But now I feel independent by doing things by myself. A home is an area where you can feel like you are loved, appreciated, and cared about. My grandparents used to take care of me when my parents could not. We played with each other so much. Now I am older and now my grandfather has passed away. I love my grandparents so much and it still feels like they are still with us. My grandmother is in Vancouver with my aunties because we cannot take care of her any longer, as she is getting older. I felt sad because she was leaving, but I understood the importance of the situation. It still feels different without them, but I know that my family is supportive. They love me for me, and I love and appreciate them so much. You do not need fancy things, or money to have a home. A home is where you love and support one another. That is what a home means to me.
