A Home is Not a Home When ...

A home is not a home when you do not have a family. Family is what makes a home. Without a family you can feel helpless. You need shelter but family comes first and helps you make your house a home. When I feel stressed out I go up to my mom or my dad and I talk about my feelings . My mom and my dad made our home a place that I can feel safe. Sometimes it is just a smell that makes me feel safe. Like when my mom makes apple crumble, still hot from the oven. It smells heavenly like freshly baked pastries, warm apples and cinnamon. It tastes so flavorful! Every single bite tastes sugary and well-prepared. Another reason is to feel safe. Feeling safe is important because you're not scared that your house is going to fly away. or you are not going to eat. When I come home from school. my mom AND my dad greet me with happiness and joy also with a big smile on their faces. Being comfortable is not always having a large luxurious sofa to sit on. It can be like being accepted and able to talk about your feelings. It is a place where you feel comfortable and feel yourself. It is important to feel comfortable to talk and be listened to. Home is a place where you do not need a lot of furniture to feel comfortable.
