My Fortress

Home doesn't have to be a structure Not four walls and a roof It's a place you feel yourself and secure For me my home is my Judo dojo And it will always be Monday, Thursday, Friday Maybe Wednesday Sometimes Saturday or Sunday If there's a tournament On Friday, Thursday and Wednesday Three hours of smiling and being ridiculous But still learning and growing The group that are older kids, me included All hang out making life come alive Assisting each other if needed See somebody that hasn't been there for a while Scream their name and run to give them a warm embrace Imaging throwing them later, smirking then running off Now put on our Judo gi Bowing our head to honor the man whose picture is on the wall The same man that created our favorite sport This fortress around us; bare but nice Will always keep me alive even when I'm coming undone My home will shape my future
