Home

Home. That place of self expression. That place of wonder where you embrace a feeling of safety. Where you finally let yourself go after a long day of holding everything together. You all know the feeling. That feeling when you’re accepted and you let that part of your mind saying “I can’t” disappear. When you look at home you see yourself in it. Whether that home be a house, a person or something entirely different. It isn’t perfect but it is completely and totally you. Home is where your family lies to guide you through life’s challenges. You may feel as though they don’t understand you, or they are too hard on you, but know that they are always trying to help you. At home, you have traditions that are unique to you and your family. Sometimes they can be silly and sometimes not. Every home has memories that they share and hold. You can look back on those memories and remember that is where you belong. No matter what you do or who you are, at home you can feel safe and comforted. When you’re at school or at work it can be easy to forget about that home. You can imagine that you’re drowning. But your home is like your anchor, keeping you tethered to the shore. Sometimes homes change but don’t let that hold you back. Everyone should have a safe and inclusive place that they call their home. You could have someone that you always feel at home with, or there could be a place that holds meaning to you. You could even be someone that has multiple homes. But whatever type of home you have or whatever type of situation you’re in, just know that there are always people who can help you find home.
