The Dining Table

I smelled the food that our mom cooked from the kitchen. Everyone heard my mom calling, “It’s time to eat!” We came to the table. We ate the delicious food our mom cooked. We eat together as we share the food. Everyone looked so happy to eat. We sometimes pray before we eat. I listen to the prayers that my family says. During our meal we tell each other what happened at work and school. My parents ask us how our day at school was. We finished eating and put all the dishes and spoons in the sink. I helped my mom wash the dishes and spoons. On the other hand, I wonder if I were alone in the house, it would be cold and lonely. I would not have been able to enjoy every meal if my family had not been there. It would be so quiet if there is no laughter, crying or conversation when me and my siblings were playing or eating. We do not have personal belongings that we can share and play together. I am thankful for having a home and a family. The house is just a structure or building where furniture and dining table are placed but there is no life, no cheerful voice, No warm hugs from the people you love. The dining table and the chairs will look empty when there are no family members eating and sharing the food. I feel loved and warm at home. It is a special place for me and my family.
