Home is My Place

Home is a place where you share your love, feelings, and happiness. I don’t live in a house; I live in a home. In my home, I have a picture of my grandpa to remember our memories. My favourite hobbies at home are gymnastics and Punjabi dance. Fun fact, in Punjabi dance I won two gold medals. Isn't that crazy? All thanks to my wonderful mom. My dad works hard, and he pays for this warm and loving home. Some people do not have a home, and I feel bad for them. I am thankful that God gave us a home. In India, we have eleven Gods. I love my home so much. When I get home from school, I lay on my cozy bed. My mom wears perfume and her perfume smells like flowers. Some days are good, some days are bad and every single day matters to me. I don’t only love my family; I love my home too. In my culture and my home, we eat Maggi, Gulab Jaman. We have many kinds of foods but the main food Roti. Our celebrations are Diwali and Lohri. When I start crying, my little baby brother comes to me. He gives me a cracker. It always feels like he is on my side but really, he is on his dad’s side. Every time when me and dad come home, I say come here Mehtaab. My dad says nothing. He just goes to his dad, WHY? My home is so warm that I do not even have to wear a jacket. My home is a warm and safe place. Thank you, Habitat for Humanity, for giving families a safe, warm, loving home just like mine.
