HOME: Home Is Where The Family Nest

Hello!! My name is Sidharth G Chandran, and I am a Grade 3/4 student from Sandy Lake Academy, Nova Scotia, Canada. I am currently 8 years old and living with my parents. What does home mean to me? - To me, home means family, love, happiness, and hard work. A home is different and more special than a house. A house is just a building, but what makes it a home is the people who live in it and how they spend time together. I moved into my home in Nova Scotia when I was four and celebrated my fifth birthday here with my parents and friends. My favorite part of the home is our living room because that is where we spend most of our time together in a day. What comes to mind when I think about home? Home is where we do everything together. Me and my parents play, cook, clean, work and does all crazy and fun stuff together at home. My home has three floors. The third floor is where I go just to get ready and to sleep. On the second floor is where I do most of my fun stuff like reading, playing piano, watching TV, playing games, studying, and doing my homework. On the ground floor, I practice my taekwondo, drums, chess, break-dancing and badminton. During summer I draw with chalk on my driveway and play four square, soccer, badminton, and basketball with my neighbors. I also go biking with them in front of my home. I have pictures of me and my family everywhere in our home and that reminds me of my childhood, relationships, and our love. I have two pet fish at home that I feed. I also have a bonsai and money plan that I water. Our kitchen smells yummy with all the delicious food that my mom and dad cooks. Each home follows its own culture and traditions. We pray and thank God every time we leave and enter our home for keeping us safe. I miss my home when I go far away from it for vacation. I always feel safe when I am at home with my parents. To conclude, Home is where I spend my best time and make lot of memories together with my family and friends. It’s where we take care of each other and do things that we love the most. I love my home a lot and as I said in the title “Home Is Where The Family Nests”.
