The Meaning of Home

My home is one of my favourite places on earth. I share my home with my Mom, my Dad, my brother Sam and my dog Mieke. Home is like a kitchen, with everyone always busy, but also like deep inside the heart, where many things are loved. When I am at home, I feel many different things, such as happiness, love, gratefulness and teamwork. My family works together in our house. We do it because we love each other and want to stay healthy and happy. Home also means being loved. It means showing respect to one another. Being there with my family means the best hugs, healthy food, time to rest and most importantly, somewhere to have fun! But when I’m home, even though there are rules, I still have permission to feel any emotion I want, and I don't have to keep any secrets. It is important to have a place you call home, so when you feel tired, sad or angry, you can just go home! That is what home means to me.
