What Home Means To Me
To me,
Home is more
Than just a place
Where trees grow,
And where flowers blow.
Home is a place
That’s more than a house.
Where we strive,
And where we grow.
Filled with joy and hope.
Washing teddies,
Is washing memories
Dirty on the outside
But meaningful in the inside
Every stitch has a memory
A memory that has been there
For years.
Sinking into the cold fur.
The meows of my cats
Keep me up all night.
It gets annoying,
But how could I
Ever get mad at her?
Knocking down books,
While chasing a fly.
Oh, the devastation I will feel,
The day that she dies.
Nighttime talks with my mother
Pointless arguing with my brother
Drives home with my father
Monday dinners
With my grandfather and grandmother.
The family I was born in,
And the family I will grow in.
To me,
Home is a place
With laughter that never fades.
With endless love,
And with warm hugs.
