My Idea on the True Meaning of Home Poem

Home to me, means love. It’s filled with the people who love you most in the world, and it is where you feel respected and cherished. Everybody deserves love. Home is safe. You should feel protected in your home by the big strong walls, and the sturdy roof. It’s your escape from the world, when you feel threatened. It doesn’t have to be fancy or huge to be safe. Everybody deserves a safe home. Home is cozy. Home is cozy, because it’s comfortable. It’s where your favourite blanket or stuffy is. It is where you find warmth, and the most familiar things to you. Everybody deserves to be cozy and comfortable. Home is family, friends, and pets. The people closest to you and who always support you and lift you up in your lowest times gather here. On weekends, after school, or special occasions is when the most important people and animals in your life meet up. Everybody deserves a place to gather and stay with family. Home is where you create memories, like taking your first steps, speaking your first words, making your favorite meals, and even sleeping in your first big kid bed. Everybody deserves to create and have memories. Home is learning life skills, like when you first learn addition, how to make a sandwich, or how to tie your shoes. Everybody deserves to learn. Home is kind, like when your mom or dad asks if you need any help with your homework, or making your bed. Everybody deserves kindness. Home is art. Walls, shelves, and fridges display your art projects, paintings, or even Christmas tree ornaments. Everybody deserves a place to have their work displayed. Home is fun. If you are having a bad day, you can come home and play boardgames or other games with family or friends. Playing is fun and makes you happy. Everybody deserves to have fun. Home is survival. Having a roof over your head, a bed to sleep on, a fridge to keep meals cold, a stove to keep them hot, running water, heat to stay warm, and a door to keep danger out are all ways home helps you survive. We all love our homes because of everything I just listed. We have to remember how fortunate we are to have the things we have, and to never take what we have for granted. So many people don't have a home . We have to remember that it’s not about how big or fancy your home is. What matters is the friends and family that are inside the home. It’s about the memories made, the safety and security felt, the fun had, the lessons learned, the kindness shown, the beauty and creativity displayed, and the survival it means. The saying “home is where the heart is” is the most accurate and true quote I know, because it really is where the heart is. That is what home means to me.
