Meaning of Home

Home is more than just a building, its where you live most of your life. All your memories are held in the home you live in and can be remembered easily. All the memories of celebrations like birthdays, Chinese New Years, Diwali, and many more celebrations mean a lot to all of us. Everybody has a place where they belong, and it’s their home. A home is a space for families to live and spend time together laughing, playing, and talking. Spending time is how everyone comes together and expresses their feelings or thoughts to one another. Home is a place where you have meals together like dinner and breakfast. It is also a place of responsibility; you are responsible for helping your family with chores like cleaning the dishes, walking the dog, feeding the dog or cat, help making supper, packing your lunch for school, and making your bed. Your home isn’t just a building on a property, your home is also the community around you. For me, my home feels like a place where I belong. I always feel safe because I have a roof over my head, so the rain won't get in, and the droplets won’t soak into the objects that absorb liquids like, fabric and cotton. A home is different from a house, even though they seem like the same thing. A house is a building made of rock, cement, and sometimes wood. A home is made of love, togetherness, joy, patience, and all the people that live inside including you. When you leave to go on a long trip in or outside the country, you might feel homesick sometimes. It’s because of all the time you spent in your home and all the memories you made. A home is full of activities you love doing with your family. Your home holds every game you like. Your home has a special meaning that connects to the games you play. No matter what game you play that is from your house when your far, you will remember the times you have played the game in the home you live in. All the sounds you hear when you play games always bring you happiness. Thank you, Habitat for Humanity, for building homes for people in need of a home. The people that didn’t have a home must feel grateful that you are helping them have a better life inside a home. Having a home must be a big feeling of happiness and gratefulness inside their heart.
