The Comfortsphere

Heard of the Exosphere? There’s also the Stratosphere, the Atmosphere, and the Geosphere. In each of these areas, the pressure and air is different. So, technically, home could be a “Sphere”, too. The Comfortsphere! In the Comfortsphere, there’s no pressure at all (Not physically, like other “Spheres”, at least.) There’s this sense of comfort and that someone’s there, everywhere. Because there is. The air flows and winds with laughter and talking and the “clickety-clack” of keyboards, all familiar. I know where to go, and nothing is bad. It feels like, in the Comfortsphere, you glide. You don’t have to be super aware (Unless you’re taking care of my sister), or super precise. Everything feels fresh, and, when interacting with the Comfortsphere, you smile. Because it’s my Comfortsphere, it has everything I like; fuzzy plushes, fun little fidgets, talking gadgets, and the best parents in the world! Even if the physical shelter where a Comfortsphere is located collapses, a Comfortsphere never does. It can grow as tall and long as I want it, whenever I want it to. In the Comfortsphere, you can just lie down, close your eyes, and feel fine. Better, in fact, even after the worst days ever. Sometimes, you might be frustrated, and feel like there’s a storm in your Comfortsphere. But it’s almost as if the air in the Comfortsphere just sucks the storm out and spews it all out as a happy, lively, relieved juice. When I go outside to someone else’s house, I don’t say “Home, sweet home!” But when I get to my Comfortsphere, though, I do. Habitat for Humanity makes houses, which are nurtured into new Comfortspheres and are occupied by not just people and pets, but also love. I love my Comfortsphere and everyone in it. A Comfortsphere is a home.
