Home
Home isn't just a place,
It’s a place to take a break just in case.
Home is a safe place to laugh and cry,
It shields you from the night sky.
Even if there's a monster under my bed,
I know it’s just all in my head.
When my worries spin around,
It’s okay to have a breakdown.
Home is where to confess my secrets,
Home is where I am needless.
Coming home to the smell of warm cookies.
Coming home after a snowy day snuggled up on the couch,
With hot chocolate in my mouth.
Home is where my dog stays
Even the one who's gone away.
Home is where memories are made,
Where in the summer I make lemonade.
Home is where humor spreads,
A great sleep in every cozy bed.
Where every birthday is celebrated,
Where art is created.
A house is a building that keeps you warm,
It protects you from a sandstorm.
A home is a place where you feel loved,
Where you’re not being shoved.
A house you leave behind when you move,
A home is where you have nothing to prove.
Thank you Habitat for humanity for giving people a home.
