The Meaning of Home

Where is a place of love and family? Where are ideas shared and hope built? It’s Home. It’s not just a building with windows and walls, it’s a place for family gatherings and play dates with friends. Pictures of memories scale the walls as I walk down the halls. A bedroom, where dreams can happen and feel real. Where all your anger can be poured onto your bed along with the rest of your emotions from the exhausting day. The kitchen, a place where you can let your imagination flow through your desserts and meals. Where you can share wonderful meals with friends and family members. You can’t forget the living room. The place for discussion, games, and visits with family members. The toy room, where there are family movie nights, games, and fun. Where you can be you and not care what people say about you. Now we step into the outdoors to the back yard. This is where you can run, jump, and play. Home, the place where you feel safe, welcome, and free to dream. This is why you should never take your home for granted. By: Charlotte Batterink
