House vs Home

A house is a place where you can sit and watch tv, but a home is a place where you can gather with family and make memories. “Honey, I just got the groceries!” “Mom, did you get the $21 cake mix I told you to buy!?” “No, I got the $7 one.” “Mom you're so cheap, are you broke or something!?” Most people take their homes and money for granted, but there are over 1000 people that are homeless just in Nova Scotia that can barely afford anything. Read along to see why homes are so important. A house is what you see when you go on walks but a home is in your heart. A home is what you can call yours! It is where you can design it however you want. You can paint the walls whatever color and get whatever furniture you want. You can make special memories with family and friends! A home is where you can bring your family and have fun however you want. When someone says,”Look, there's another house” you can say “No that's my home.” A home is forever. Even if your house burns down, your home will always be in your heart. You don't need a house to have a home, you just need family. As you grow old, you may grow apart from some people, but your home brings you together. No matter how much your home gets damaged, your home will be in your heart as long as you need it. A home is where you feel safe-It is where you can be yourself and no one will judge. A home is where you can be unique and that's why it's called a home. When you walk in your door you know you can lock your door and know one can get in unless you let them. At home I know I'm safe. The Habitat for humanity writing contest is a really fun and nice way to give homeless families houses. Habitat for humanity has really made me see how we can help homeless families, it also has warmed my heart.
