More Than a Roof
Home. It's a simple word, yet its meaning runs deep. It’s not just the place where we rest our heads at night or store our belongings. Home is where our hearts find comfort, where memories are made, and where we are free to be our true selves.
For some, home is a house—a structure made of bricks, wood, and paint. But for many, it’s the people inside that house that make it a home. It’s the laughter shared over dinner, the quiet moments spent together, and the warmth of knowing you belong. Home is not defined by walls, but by the love and connection that fill them.
Home is also where we return after life's challenges, the place that welcomes us with open arms when the world outside feels too big or too harsh. It’s where we heal, recharge, and find the strength to move forward. No matter how far we travel or how much we change, there’s a part of us that always remains tethered to the place that shaped us.
Home doesn’t always have to be a single location. It can be a feeling, a person, a memory, or even a community. It’s where we find peace, safety, and belonging. Sometimes, home is the place we’ve created with those who’ve walked alongside us—friends, family, or even ourselves. It’s a place of acceptance, where we can let our guard down and simply be.
Sometimes, home is messy. There’s laundry everywhere, dishes piled up, and maybe even a few arguments. But that’s part of it, right? It’s not about perfection; it’s about being real, being yourself. The best part of home is knowing that no matter what, it's always there for you.
Thankyou Habitat for humanity for helping those that need a home!
