Home To Me

For me, home is more than just a place to stay or have; it’s a place that means something to you, it’s somewhere where you belong. Home has many unique qualities that vary depending on the home that you have and your experience in it. The qualities in my home are memories, love, family and many other things. If I could describe how I feel in my home and community, it would be doing all my favourite things with all my friends and family. It would be the feeling of walking inside after a long, cold day. Memories. As soon as memories walk into your head they don’t stop they keep going, however for me sometimes they walk too much and go right through my head, falling and forgetting. Within a home, that can’t happen because of how you recognize parts of your home and see them in different ways. Sometimes, you just need a little reminder. With memories, you can go back and see how you lived your best moments or others' best moments. Love. Love for me is when you have finally found your place among real caring friends and family. Love isn’t just a feeling it’s something you can do and show, love is where you know something is good and a perfect fit for you. Love is something that everyone should have, feel and show to others. If love were a place, it would have a different experience for each person, but most importantly, everyone would be happy, care, and give back to others and the planet. Family. Family, to me, is the base of home, seeing as family shows love and care and gives you beautiful memories. I’m very thankful to have a great, supportive family with me by my side, given that some people don’t. My family plays such a big part in making me feel at home; they always know the right thing to do and say to me as I work or play. When I get home, my family is there, and when I leave, my family is there; wherever I am, my family is right by me, doing whatever they can to help and support me, which is why they make up the biggest part of home for me. For me, home is how I feel loved, how my family is always there for me, and how home doesn't hesitate to give me long-lasting memories. Home should be the most comforting place for everyone everywhere, no matter who you are, but that's not the truth. However, the work they do at Habitat For Humanity is great because of how they fix these circumstances. I think everyone should have a home, and it’s so cruel to have so many people on the streets. I hope Habitat For Humanity keeps up the good work and fundraisers for people without homes.
