Home is NOT Just a Place

Home is not just a place with walls and a roof, it is a place where you can paint new memories. Here are some of my memories. My first steps as an example. One unsure foot in front of the other around my home with laughter roaming the air, home was there to see everything-the joy in my parents' voices and mine, giggling the whole way through. Another memory that I have is hearing the young boys and girls on the television when I was a toddler after a long summer day at preschool. Watching children on the TV playing with toys, wishing I’d have an abundance of toys just as they did. Finally, the last memory that I have when I was little is when I was eating gross baby food that I hated, I spat it all out in my mum’s face! Disgusting! Home is full of strong memories that will be always and forever locked in my mind. Home is also a place with love and joy. Home is like a big warm hug wrapped around you making you feel safe and protected for a while. Home is like getting showered in lovely kisses by your grandparents after you haven't seen them in a long time. Home smells like my mom’s delicious cooking, and it feels like my warm cozy bed at night. Home is gifted with love and positive feelings. Home is filled with family and friends. Imagine waking up to the smell of your parents making fresh fluffy pancakes with a side of salty eggs and seeing a beautiful sunrise right outside your window. Home is like playing with your friends on a hot summer day in the sun. Home means lots and lots of things to people but my home means the most to me! A home is more than just a building, it’s a place where you feel safe, loved, and welcome. I hope one day no one has to worry about where they will sleep at night, and everyone has a home that they can call their own.
