What Home Means to Me

What home means to me. At home, you can be yourself. Homes can mean different things to each and everyone in the world. You can build a house but not a home. Houses and homes are a lot more different than you think, because houses can break down, but homes can’t. You can touch anything in a house, but you can’t touch things that make it a home. Houses can have everything except one thing that only homes have. It is nothing else than love and laughter that you have shared with your family and friends. There are a thousand, maybe more than a thousand things that homes have, but not houses. At home, your voices are heard and your feelings are shared. Home is a safe place, a cozy place. What else would you need if you had a place like that to live in? A lot of people don’t even have a place like that to live in. Some people think that they don’t have a home; that's a really big lie. They may have a home but maybe not a house. If you think that you can break down homes, no… you can never break down a home until there is no more love and memories are forgotten. Why would someone want to leave a place that feels like home, where they belong? People think if they want to succeed in life, they need money and a big house but that’s not true! You don't need any of these things to succeed in life. To actually succeed in life, all you only need is a home.
