My Perfect Place
A home is like a big present, a new gift of happiness
Everyday I wake to soft gentle chatter which is music to my ears,
Walk down the stairs, put away those bad emotions
Appreciating another day, new goals
We gather at the table and they ask,” How was your sleep?”
I am not ready for the silent attack…
BOOM!
Hugs, hugs and more hugs
And all before the sunrise.
In the afternoon it can feel like a cartoon
Perfectly valued and planned,
With a punch of happiness with my lunch
Tender sweet cooking from the ones who care
My mother and father are always there,
We have mixed emotions from morning to night,
But we all feel safe, because of family, and know it’s alright.
At dinner, we acknowledge each other and say grace,
Like the tides going up and down at St.Simons island.
And dessert, what a sweet surprise!
It’s the exciting feeling of getting a present.
In the evening, I can look out the window
I see a firework,
The loudest brightest light in the night,
Like diamonds in the sky.
To me, a home is a place where we feel at peace,
And all those memories fall into one different, but perfect piece.
This is my PERFECT picture of a HOME
Thank you Habitat for Humanity,
for making affordable homes, because of all your hard work,
Kids can feel the way I feel, happy, thankful, and thought of,
All in a day's work.
