When I am at Home

When I am at home, my worries and fears tumble away like dust. My heart soars and my spirit lifts. No matter what anyone says, a house is not a home. Home is a pair of worn jeans and shoes that fit just right. A home has personality, a bond so strong it cannot break, no matter what pushes against it. The park is fine, with little children swinging on swings. The beach is nice, as you make waves upon waves. The library is fair, as you settle in with a good book. But a home is perfect, a sanctuary of peace and comfort. Though children bicker, and glass cracks, nothing can break a family’s bond while they are at home. Diamonds and titanium will crack before a home crumbles. Bridges will burn, and mountains will fall before a home falls apart. A home has family, tradition, and prosperity that you can’t find anywhere else. When I make a puzzle, I will do it at home. The last piece gives me accomplishment that is only found at home. The soft click sends satisfaction flooding the house. A home is a powerful place, full of wonder and comfort. A home is not a building, it is a feeling. When I am at home, my worries fall away, my heart soars and my spirit lifts. No matter what anyone says, a house is not a home.
