On A Deeper Level
If you asked me what home meant to me,
I would say, a building.
But if you asked me on a deeper level, I would say…
Home is where I stay,
Anytime,
I feel downplayed.
When I’m under the weather,
I put on a sweater,
And hang in my home, with my family together.
Home is a warm cup of
Hot cocoa,
That I slurp up in one go.
My home is like no other,
Only that,
This is where I can hug my mother.
I jump into the halls of my house,
Love is stuck in the walls.
But silent as a mouse.
My house creaks and squeaks,
But that doesn’t change,
That it's where I can freely be a ‘freak’.
Though I’m in a new home,
I still have memories,
Of the one that I once called my own.
So, I must say what home means to me,
Is as important,
As any friend or family.
Thank you Habitats for Humanity,
For making,
Homes in this state of insanity.
