The Meaning of Home
For me home is not a place but a feeling. I live with my mum and dad, two brothers and my sweet little dog. I know that if I walked in one day and it was just me in my house it would lose all of its comfort. I like to think of my house as a nest. In my house I can be myself without feeling bad about who I am.
My dad likes to lie down on the couch to be there to greet me when I come home from school. My dog loves to give hugs which makes me feel at home. I have always loved spending time with my mum because she is such a caring and wonderful person. My two brothers are about the best brothers that you could ask for. They hang out with me and help me when the times get tough and are just so amazing.
My grandmother died when I was five which was really hard for me and still is because she was such an important part of my life. She did everything with so much love. She painted beautiful pictures and many of them hang in my house. When they hang there I am reminded of her love for me that she had and still has to this day. Whenever I came over for a visit she would always make me feel at home with her presence.
At first when you buy a house you might like the way it looks inside or how it functions but what makes it truly feel like a home is the special people who share it with you. I love my house. It is not perfect and it's no mansion but it is wonderfully unique just like the people living in it.
