Home Can Mean Lots Of Things
What does home mean to you? A very simple thing home can be is a house or apartment where you might live. But that’s not really what home can mean. A home can be a place where you feel safe, and you have people around you who care for you and you care for them. A home could be a place to rest, sleep, and grow. A home could be a place full of joyful memories. A home is a place where you have freedom and you’re free. A home doesn’t even have to be a place where you live. You could call a home where your grandparents live or your cousins live. But of course a home could be as simple as something you call a shelter. A home doesn’t have one definite description. Everyone can call home something different. In my life, I find my home is a place where you can be yourself without people judging you and a place where I have people who love me and I love them. So what does home mean? If you want a dictionary to answer that question, it's not really correct. Sure yes, it can be a house with walls, and a roof, and even a door. But of course, home can mean lots of other things. Like I said before, home doesn’t have a definite description, so that means whatever you consider home, it’s correct. But one thing I think for certain a home should be, is a place where you're safe, and full of joy. A home is a place that everyone deserves. No matter what they call home, everyone deserves a place to call home. Which is why I thank Habitat for Humanity Canada for building homes for people who deserve a place to call home.
