Home is Help

What is home? Home is a place where you can feel safe, and a place with family, and friends who love and take care of you. Not everyone has access to a home. Many of those who have that privilege, don’t realize how lucky they are to have a roof over their heads, and a place of warmth. During cold winter months or burning summer seasons, our home is always there, and continuously filled with happiness. Nobody realizes just how many people are not able to afford a house or apartment. Everyone thinks that if you can’t afford a house, apartment or condo, it means you are not considered a successful person. It doesn’t matter the size of the home, how expensive the cost is, or the location. What matters is the people who live with you, in your home. The people who surround you, and who make you feel welcome. Homes provide us with shelter, and a place to sleep, and rest. Homes are meaningful. They’re not just a house or apartment, and are not just a place of refuge. They’re a place with your family, where you’re surrounded by neighbours, and those who aid you when you’re in need of assistance. In fact, home can be a mansion. It can be a small apartment. You belong there, with your parents, your siblings, and perhaps even your grandparents. Even a small apartment is a luxury. Many people who can afford housing aren’t aware of the difference they can make. But there are those who help, and have empathy. With the help of family, friends, and maybe even the whole neighborhood, they work together to help. It’s these people, who take action, and who show how much they care, who know the true meaning of home.
