The Meaning of Home

Home‬‭ isn’t‬‭ a‬‭ place,‬‭ it's‬‭ a‬‭ feeling,‬‭ a‬‭ feeling‬‭ that‬‭ can’t‬‭ be‬ described.‬‭ A‬‭ house‬‭ is‬‭ just‬‭ a‬‭ physical‬‭ structure,‬‭ a‬‭ place,‬ ‭but‬‭ home‬‭ is‬‭ so‬‭ very‬‭ much‬‭ more.‬‭ Home‬‭ is‬‭ the‬‭ smell‬‭ of‬‭ my‬ sister's‬‭ hair.‬‭ The‬‭ sound‬‭ of‬‭ my‬‭ little‬‭ brother‬‭ laughing‬‭ and‬ ‭giggling.‬‭ Home‬‭ can‬‭ be‬‭ something‬‭ or‬‭ somewhere‬‭ where‬ you‬‭ can‬‭ be‬‭ yourself,‬‭ something‬‭ that‬‭ encourages‬‭ you.‬ ‭Home‬‭ is‬‭ somewhere‬‭ you‬‭ can‬‭ feel‬‭ safe‬‭ and‬‭ happy‬‭ but‬‭ a‬ house‬‭ can‬‭ be‬‭ new‬‭ and‬‭ scary.‬‭ Your‬‭ house‬‭ can‬‭ be‬‭ as‬ ‭simple‬‭ as‬‭ a‬‭ sweater‬‭ or‬‭ as‬‭ complicated‬‭ as‬‭ a‬‭ handshake.‬‭ A‬ house‬‭ is‬‭ like‬‭ a‬‭ play‬‭ needing‬‭ to‬‭ be‬‭ constructed‬‭ but‬‭ a‬‭ home‬ is‬‭ like‬‭ the‬‭ ocean‬‭ following‬‭ its‬‭ own‬‭ current.‬‭ My‬‭ home‬‭ is‬ filled‬‭ with‬‭ laughter‬‭ and‬‭ guidance.‬‭ Our‬‭ home‬‭ is‬‭ filled‬‭ with‬ love‬‭ and‬‭ care.‬‭ A‬‭ house‬‭ is‬‭ filled‬‭ with‬‭ “stuff’’ but‬‭ a‬‭ home‬‭ is‬ filled‬‭ with‬‭ love,‬‭ courage‬‭ and‬‭ freedom.‬‭ Your‬‭ home‬‭ can‬‭ be‬ anything‬‭ you‬‭ want‬‭ it‬‭ to‬‭ be.‬‭ “Thank‬‭ you‬‭ Habitat‬‭ for‬ Humanity, our homes and houses will always be with us.”‬
