The Meaning of Home
Home isn’t a place, it's a feeling, a feeling that can’t be described. A house is just a physical structure, a place,
but home is so very much more. Home is the smell of my sister's hair. The sound of my little brother laughing and
giggling. Home can be something or somewhere where you can be yourself, something that encourages you.
Home is somewhere you can feel safe and happy but a house can be new and scary. Your house can be as
simple as a sweater or as complicated as a handshake. A house is like a play needing to be constructed but a home is like the ocean following its own current. My home is filled with laughter and guidance. Our home is filled with love and care. A house is filled with “stuff’’ but a home is filled with love, courage and freedom. Your home can be anything you want it to be. “Thank you Habitat for Humanity, our homes and houses will always be with us.”
