The True Meaning of Home
Home to me isn’t just a painted wall, a roof and tiles
Home is a place where you find smiles
Home is the place you find warmth and love
Home is where you feel free as a dove
Family time in the living room
Is where happiness starts to bloom
When everyone is available to talk to
When your day is blue
Home is security and protection
Home points you in the right direction
Home keeps you safe like a lock
When something leaves you in shock
When you remember the memories you made here
It gets rid of all the fear
Home is filled with love and laughter
When you spill the cup and make a disaster!
Home kept us together for life
In us was a glowing light
Home will be there if you’re in a fight
And tell you if you got the question right
A house can be the place you live
Home is where you are given and give
Home is where love is in the air
But a house only has a table and chair
Home isn’t a physical thing
It’s the feeling that kept us living
At home I learned to read and write
I learned to do what was right
Home was an enormous piece of art
That never needed perfections like mom’s homemade tart
Home can be anywhere
And always remember they’re there
Where the people you love are found
That is the perfect home
A house could be anywhere in France or Rome
But if there’s no one there
It’s just a building with plain old air
If what’s your home
Doesn’t make you feel this way
It might not be your true home
There’s a whole universe out there, explore the globe!
Until you find your true home
