Home
What does home mean to you? When I hear home I think of a cozy building, loving family and a variety of emotions.
To begin with, home means a solid structure which includes the kitchen, the living room and my bedroom. Firstly, when you come into my house you see my kitchen with a beautiful dining table where I eat dinner with my family. I enjoy looking at my mugs because it reminds me of my childhood, like my sippy cup I used when I was 3 years old. I enjoy eating my cultural food (e.g., kimchi ) because it reminds me of my home country South Korea. My living room is my favourite room because it's where I spend the most time and have lots of memories with my family. I have pictures of us that remind me of great times we had together. My bedroom is another favorite room because I have my stuffys and my desk is special to me because it has my work which I put a lot of effort into. There are also my old toys and it's interesting to see what I played with when I was younger. To conclude, home is an amazing area to me because of the kitchen, the living room and my bedroom.
Next, home is an incredible place to live because of the people, the activities, and the celebrations. First of all you can only call your house a real home when you have people and fun activities to do, like playing board games. Me and my family enjoy watching movies because it makes us relax and it's a great way to end our day. Additionally, Christmas is an amazing celebration because it's Jesus' birthday. My family and I also celebrate Thanksgiving when we gather together to have dinner. To conclude, home means a lot to me because of the amazing people, amusing activities and the celebrations with people I love .
Finally, home means a peaceful place to me. To start, home is a place to express and feel a variety of emotions, such as love and trust. My family expresses love to me by showing respect and they take care of me when I get hurt. One of the emotions I feel is happiness. My name Eileen actually means joy. One last emotion I express at home is gratefulness. I’m grateful for my family because there are people out there in the world who have lost or doesn’t have a family. I’m grateful to have a place to live because some people don’t have shelter.
In conclusion my home is a very special place to me because I can rest in a cozy building, receive a lot of love and feel and express a variety of emotions. “Peace - that was the other name for home”- Kathleen Norris
