Meaning of Home

What is home? There are many definitions of home but three are valuable memories, an affectionate community and a generous family. To begin with, memories of emotions, personal possessions, and special places mean home. First of all, there are various emotions I feel when I think of memories in my home. If it was a funny, unique memory I would feel as joyful as getting a present on my birthday. As well, toys have memories, like Barbies, because I can just remember playing with them. In addition, places have memories because if you moved from your old house it will forever be in your heart. Holidays are cheerful times at your home because all your family gathers, eats delicious food, laughs and creates extraordinary memories. To sum it up, home is emotional memories of one of a kind objects and of different places. Furthermore, I think home is a community which is people you share with, people who make you feel unique and your wonderful neighbours. To begin, being in a group of people means you can share your feelings and they’ll always support you no matter what. A real environment is very inclusive. They invite you with warmth and kindness, if you feel uncomfy they will make sure you feel welcomed. In addition, my neighbours are a part of my social space. My neighbours are kind because they let me in their home and teach me things in a very soft way. Overall, people in your life make a community. Next, home is a family where you can share your problems, feel safe and do fun activities. To begin, you can always tell your issues to your family because they will help solve the problem. No matter what you say they’ll stay calm because they love you. In addition, my amazing family makes me feel safe because I trust them. I know that they’ll never be mean to me. I feel protected around my family because I know if there’s danger they will always defend me. To add, there are hobbies I like to do with my family, such as baking cookies with my mom because it’s very comforting. I remember ever since I was little we would go to the basement and watch a movie. I think home is not a building because of my family who solve problems, make me feel safe and do the best activities. In conclusion, I think home is not just a place or somewhere to live it’s past thoughts, an admiring neighbourhood and loved ones. “Home is where love resides, memories are created, friends always belong, laughter never ends”. -Unknown
