What is Home?

A house has four walls, a roof and a door. Large and empty inside. But a home is a place to return to, a safe place to rest filled with memories. Some joyful, some sorrowful, some filled with rage. A home is a place for letting out emotion, a place to feel like you belong. A place to sleep, a place to play, a place to feel excited! A place where you work, talk, love, and cry. Home could be an apartment, a condo, a house. What really matters are the memories and joy it gives you, the knowing you have shelter to go back to after a long day. At home you could have hobbies, something you love doing, you could knit blissfully on a warm couch, you could read in your bed, you could write stories on a computer. One of my favorite experiences at home was when I was making a puzzle with my dad. The puzzle was colorful and was decorated with many different flavors of ice cream. We were laughing at some joke he had made about never getting this puzzle done ( it was 750 pieces ). Then my little brother came up and said “ can I have help with my puzzle?” My dad looked at me and I looked at him and I was about to say no when he saw the expressions on our faces and said in a hurry “ it's only 50 pieces!” so I looked at him and said “alright it shouldn't take too long.” .Home is where you depart to after each long day, the place to rest and replenish. That is what home means to me.
