The Best Thing On Earth
I think my house is an extraordinarily special place. It’s cozy, warm and safe. My body can just slump, and I can take one of my warm, soft blankets and read with the dim lighting and the fireplace with some tasty snacks. I especially like the hot chocolate where my tastebuds jump and jiggle at the first taste of the creamy brown liquid. A house is really nice to have especially when it feels safe and you can lie down on your fuzzy soft bed and read a smooth-paged, thick book with just your lamp on. When it’s dark and stormy outside you can be cozy and warm inside. It just feels so good. That's what a home is: a safe place.
Unfortunately, some people don’t have what I have, and it’s not just one or two people. One in eight Canadians don’t have a safe house. They have to choose between food or a house and it’s really depressing to know that. I think that this problem can be solved if people donate money and time to Habitat for Humanity.
My house means a lot to me but a home means more. A home is where all your feelings go. I have a lot of memories at my house but most of all I’m glad that I have a home. My home is my family; living in a safe place.
