Meaning of Home
What do you think of when you hear “home”? When I hear home I think of a cozy building, a loving family, and different emotions.
To begin with, I think “home” is a building with protection, style, and decorations. First of all, a home could be a building that has a roof that can protect you from rain, snow, and all the other weather. Secondly, I think the structure would need some style, like colours, to paint whatever you want to make a beautiful home. It also needs different designs like an artist was there which you could create to express your mood (e.g., swirls and waves like the calm sea). Not only does a home need colours and patterns it also needs decorations to make your house look way better than it used to and to feel like home (e.g., paintings, plants). To end, a home needs to be strong, beautiful, and have many items.
Secondly, a home could also mean a family that is trustworthy, supportive, and keep away bad things. To start, a family is trustworthy, because they are like your tribe, and they are always by your side even if you make a mistake because they trust that you can fix it. Additionally, your family is supportive because no matter what you do they will be kind and you will always be part of the group. Also, they could encourage you to do something different. Next, your family could keep you away from things, like a sickness, and they could also keep away negative thoughts. Overall, your family is trustful, encouraging, and they can protect.
Thirdly, a home has many emotions for with your family you can feel love, joy, and forgiveness. For instance, you’d feel love because maybe you have the best memories about your childhood or fun times with family. You’d have hugs and support from your family and you would feel loved. Furthermore, people would also feel joyful if there is entertainment that never stops, (e.g., family game night, movie night). Not only love and joy, you’d also feel forgiveness. I think forgiveness is like a second chance, like in a video game, you have 3 lives ( 3 chances). Also, you’d forgive your family because you’d have a built-in trust in your family, trust that is unbreakable, because you are all connected, and that can be a type of home. To summarize, a home gives you emotions, like love, joy, and forgiveness!
In conclusion, to me “home” means a trustworthy structure, people that are always by your side, and a variety of feelings. “ Where we love is home, home that our feet may leave but not our hearts” -Oliver Wendell Holmes Sr.
