The Meaning of Home

The meaning of home to me is a place where I can be with my family. Whenever I think of home, I think about my family, like going home and playing with my brother, or eating delicious food with my family. It’s a place where I know I can express myself in the comfort of a place I recognize. Home is also a place that for me, holds many memories. Most of my memories are at my house, which for me is my home. But home doesn’t have to be a place. I feel like home is somewhere where I can be with my family, because I know when I go home I know the rest of my family will be there. It’s like a meeting place that my entire family goes to after each day to meet and discuss what we did. Whenever I think about my home, a warm feeling wells in my chest and I smile. It heats my body and I feel warm and happy on the inside. Because I know home is a place where I get to see and hang out with all the members of my family. If I’m feeling social, I’ll chat with my brother and we’ll play a game. If I’m annoyed, I’ll hide in my bedroom, reading book after book with the company of my cat. I know at my home I am safe. I am loved. And I am happy. That is what home means to me.
