A House is Not a Home
In a house with walls so tall,
There's space for things, both big and small.
But though the doors of a home that swing wide and free,
A home is more than what we see.
A house can have a roof so bright,
With windows that let in the light.
But if the home lacks the heart to care,
It’s not a home, no matter where.
The floors may shine, the walls may gleam,
But a home is more than wood and dreams.
It's laughter shared, and tears that flow,
It's warmth that only kindness can show.
A house can stand, brick by brick,
But without love, it doesn't stick.
A home needs people, hearts that sing,
And memories that give it wings.
The couch might be as soft as air,
And kitchen smells might fill the air,
But it’s the hugs, the smiles, the cheer,
That makes a home feel warm and near.
So when you think of what you own,
Remember this: A house’s stone
Is just a shell, a place to stay,
But love and care will light the way.
For a house is built of brick and beam,
But a home is made of love and dreams.
It’s where your heart feels safe and free,
A place to live, a place to be.
