What Home Means to Me

Home isn't about a building, it's about family and love, it's about helping my people. Home is a teepee made with sticks and hides, the bush smells and the smell of fresh bannock. Home is also about my Mom, My stepdad and the sound of my cat purring in her sleep. Home is also about the sounds of the city and smells, the smell of fresh dumplings down in China Town. Home is about the loud sirens of the ambulance going by the police and fire truck zooming by. Home is about the smells of jerk chicken and halal down the street making me hungry as we speak.Home is about the subway blowing my hair side to side with the wind impact by zooming by.
