An Essay About Home

Home is more than a place where I live. Home is a place where I'm with my family. It is where I pass time with family and friends. But in Nova Scotia, some people don’t have a place to reside . People sleep outside in the rain. Everybody deserves to have a HOME and live with their family. There is a homelessness crisis in Nova Scotia because a lot of houses are not affordable. People are taking care of their families in the rain with hardship everyday because here in Nova Scotia, houses are high priced. And imagine how scary it is to sleep without a roof protecting you all day and night. Home also means safety. Sometimes when I drive to Halifax I see a ¨Tent City¨ and I feel so bad for those people drowsing in the rain or snow. And it's just not in Nova Scotia. Home also means hope. One time I went to Ottawa, and I saw people laying against the walls of shops. Home also means happiness. I felt so heartbroken because these people don't have a home. Also, in Ontario a lot of people sorrowfully don't have a home. This is happening all over Canada. All over Canada people don't have a home because of overpriced homes. People are getting ill because they don't have the proper resources. I wrote this essay to exhibit that I feel so fortunate to be living under a canopy.
